Based in Stoke-On-Trent, Clive Durose and his team of 30 staff provide a wood-machining service specialising in the bespoke manufacture of complex handrails And beautifully crafted staircase components.

“I’m delighted to have reached this momentous milestone,” Clive comments, “I’ve always relished a challenge over the years, overcoming technical difficulties in the pursuit of creating beautiful woodwork. I’m also fortunate to have a great team that share my passion for craftsmanship and together, we’ve achieved some outstanding results.”

Clive started the business at the age of the 18, shortly after completing an A Level in woodworking. Self-taught in the craft, he soon became known as one of the most accomplished woodturners, producing a wide range of products including stair parts, furniture components and architectural features, going on to supply a wide range of clients across the country. Over the course of the next four decades, the business has transformed its manufacturing processes using modern CNC machinery, together with more traditional methods, to achieve the most spectacular end results.

More recently, Clive and his team were commissioned to work on a private residential project in Mayfair, London, with a value of £500,000. They successfully designed and built a landmark staircase using state-of-the-art CAD design and CNC technologies. The completed flowing staircase and handrail spans seven floors, featuring fine detailed solid timber steps set into a concealed steel structure.
