Salvamac Group: Positive thinking leads to increased sales & strong growth in the first half of 2021

Classic_60: Industrial semi-automatic cross-cutting saw featuring a 600mm blade diameter

“Considering that we’ve always had the advantage of very fast delivery times, we don’t expect a drop in turnover for the current year. In fact, we’re closing the first six months having experienced strong growth,” explains Salvamac co-founder Christian Salvador. “In particular, after a very strong start to the first half of 2021, we’ve already matched our turnover for the whole of 2020, which means that in 2021, we can expect impressive results. We have to thank the United Kingdom and Ireland for the results obtained.”
In particular, Salvamac continued its growth in both main product ranges comprising technologies from solid wood cutting to suction systems. “As for the UK,” continues Christian, “we’ve accumulated – both myself and friend and partner, Robert – a great deal of experience directly on the field, by visiting a large number of our customers’ factories. We know the specific requests that come from markets comprising pallet production, garden furnishing and fencing, window frames, or the entire construction industry, without neglecting the resale of semi-finished wooden products and custom-made solid wood furniture.
Salvamac was born from 20 years’ experience, with the aim of bridging the meeting point between modern technology and an inexperienced end user. All this has allowed us to confront the COVID-19 crisis and become a leader in the UK market – rather, we’ve seen the pandemic as an opportunity.”

A faster, safer & more effective production line
It’s the Italian-Polish company’s success that has considered traditional and already consolidated products, thus leading to a dynamic production reality in Poland a few years ago. A reality that initially saw a catalogue focused on the Classic_40, _50 and _60 semi-automatic cross-cutting saws – machines that require limited investment but represent a decisive step towards a faster, safer and more effective production line. A solid core to which new aggregates have been successively added, which significantly increases the performance of these undoubtedly ‘simple’ machines. To these, they’ve also added means of intelligent loading and unloading systems, plus automations that allow even small businesses or sophisticated craftsmen to move towards a completely new perspective.

The SalvaStop_100 system can be easily integrated on the cross-cutting saw, therefore becoming SalvaStop Combo

Inserted into this perspective is SalvaStop_100, the electronic saw-stop that manages the pushing, stopping and positioning of beams and profiles to be cut via a numeric control unit. This safety system, regardless of material, is extremely precise and works with high speed thanks to a latest generation electronic motor. SalvaStop_100 can be easily integrated into the Salvamac cross-cutting saws, thus becoming the SalvaStop Combo.
Thanks to a new technological concept, an anodised aluminium beam – with a 100 × 100mm reinforced section, featuring a very thick profile edge – has been created. This beam has three sides with grooves to adapt and install the structure. The fourth side is flat to facilitate the sliding of wood on the guide, thus avoiding problems associated with wear and dust. Owing to this solution’s considerable dimensions, the pusher carriage reaches a speed of up to 60m per minute.
The transmission system has a 32mm wide-toothed belt, with high precision internal steel cables, ensuring a wide capacity and a very high positioning tolerance. The machined steel heads are robust and independent, designed to stand the test of time, as well as being highly reliable and precise. SalvaStop_100 is integrated with exclusive software that is easy to use thanks to an immediate, easily understandable and complete graphic interface. The s-PAD colour touch-screen display has been designed to ensure it’s perfectly positioned for reading and writing, also featuring a comfortable digital keyboard. This software has a USB connection, and the internet teleservice is included and installed.
The system features two main operating modes – ‘Stop’ and ‘Push’ – plus a total of five different sections: ‘Stop’ mode for single-length positioning or the possibility of recalling predetermined measurements; ‘Push’ mode with repeatable fix cycles and 100 possible cutting lists. The software part is completed by ‘Jog’ mode and automatic reset, a wide possibility of parameter customisation, plus a diagnostic and teleservice connection system.
The compact Servo Drive electronic motor guarantees simplicity, reliability, durability and efficiency. Using this innovative technology, users can manage closed loop positioning and check the position at any time, even in the case of a heavy workload and accidental external pressure. The motor, mounted in pulling position, has 11Nm power and the electrical and electronic inputs and outputs are integrated within the engine itself.
Finally, the emergency stop and start buttons are ergonomically positioned to ensure ease of use for the operator. “I’ve always considered change as a fundamental evolutionary moment,” says Robert Dolkowski, Salvamac co-founder, “and even when a moment seems negative, this is actually a great opportunity for growth. We know that we’re living in difficult times, but we’re convinced that the spirit of sacrifice combined with ethics and human relationships may be the only solution. With this corporate and personal philosophy, innovation finds continuous space for new ideas, products and production systems: innovate, innovate, innovate!”

SalvaPush_2000: Innovative automatic and optimising cross-cutting saw

The flagship of Salvamac optimising saws – the SalvaPush_2000 optimising cross-cutting saw – perfectly represents this philosophy, featuring brand-new software that allows any user to manage the machine with ease. The graphics are instantaneous, the large touch-screen allows easy and fast data entry, all of which is completed by digital communication between all electronic components. It’s precisely this evolution in a totally digital environment that’s made it possible to achieve a high level of external communication, thus easily integrating with company management.
The recent developments in barcode data import and the related ‘just-in-time’ management systems – from development of the customer’s order to finished product – make it a unique market solution in terms of single-batch production processes. The operator is therefore able to manage even a single piece simply by loading components after reading the relative barcode and leaving all management to the supervisor. Very flexible and advanced technological solutions allow communication both upstream and downstream with company software, thus realising the fundamental principles of industry 4.0.

Manufactured from hard steel to guarantee reliability and long life, SalvaPush_2000 features a cutting unit with a 25° inclined plane

The applications of the machine in the construction components and special pallets sector fully confirm the recent developments. These new and exclusive mechanical solutions are also suited to both the cutting and pusher systems – solutions that are demonstrating their potential and flexibility at customers’ premises, where these machines are in operation.
