ToughBuilt's commitment to ensuring safer workplaces has been independently recognised by the UK's leading trade body for the safety industry, the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF).

The manufacturer of premium quality, intelligently designed hand tools, jobsite products and PPE, received two commendations at the recent Safety & Health Excellence (SHE) Awards, held in conjunction with the BSIF.

The annual awards, which took place on 6 April 2022 at the NEC, Birmingham, bring together organisations from across the health and safety sector - including manufacturers, distributors, test houses, certification bodies and specialist service providers. The awards aim to recognise and advocate excellence in occupational health and safety.

ToughBuilt was commended in the BSIF Product Innovation category for its development of the ToughBuilt® GelFit™ Rocker Knee Pads. Based on the patented SnapShell system, these knee pads offer users unparalleled levels of versatility.

The SnapShell™ at the front of the knee pad is interchangeable and provides the freedom to tailor pads to suit different tasks and work environments. Three types are available - non-marring, rocker – for use on rough terrain – stablisers. The pads can also be used without any SnapShell™.

ToughBuilt® GelFit™ Rocker Knee Pads have an ergonomic gel and foam design, which embraces the natural shape of the knee and upper shin, maximising pressure distribution for all-day comfort. High side walls also greatly reduce twisting off of the knee while EVA elastic leg straps comfortably hold the pads in place without cutting off circulation or binding behind the knee.

ToughBuilt's GelFit™ Rocker Knee Pads, like all kneepads offered by the manufacturer, are fully UKCA and CE certified.

ToughBuilt was further commended in the BSIF Safety Solution category. This second commendation was for the development of the knee pads and the manufacturer's on-going efforts to engage, educate and inform UK industry on the need to employ adequate knee protection in the workplace.

This educational activity, which is spearheaded by ToughBuilt's #KneelSmart KneelSafe campaign, aims to see knee protection treated with the same importance as other forms of PPE, such as hard hats, safety boots and safety googles. This is due to the fact that the consequences of not using knee pads can be every bit as devastating and life changing.
